Welder (GTAW + SMAW) - Shutdown

We are seeking experienced Welders with proficiency in Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG) and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) for an Oil & Gas shutdown project in Kuwait. Candidates should have hands-on experience performing weld repairs in both external work areas and confined spaces. Previous experience in shutdown projects and industrial welding repairs is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform welding repairs using GTAW (TIG) and SMAW techniques.

• Carry out external weld repairs on piping, spools, and related components.

• Perform welding repair activities in confined spaces, subject to required permits and safety clearances.

• Prepare joints and surfaces for welding, including cleaning, grinding, and bevel preparation.

• Follow approved welding procedures and applicable project specifications.

• Inspect welds visually to ensure quality and compliance with specified requirements.

• Coordinate with Fitters, Fabricators, and inspection teams to complete repair activities.

• Assist with weld defect repairs as instructed and approved by the welding or inspection team.

• Maintain welding equipment, tools, and consumables in good working condition.

• Follow permit-to-work requirements, confined-space entry procedures, and hot-work safety standards.

• Relevant experience as a Welder in the Oil & Gas industry.

• Hands-on proficiency in both GTAW (TIG) and SMAW welding processes.

• Experience in weld repairs involving piping, spools, and related components.

• Experience performing welding activities in external areas and confined spaces is preferred.

• Ability to read and understand welding symbols, drawings, and applicable welding procedures.

• Knowledge of weld preparation, joint fit-up, and repair techniques.

• Valid welding qualification or certification as required by the project is preferred.

• Familiarity with hot-work permits, confined-space safety, and PPE requirements.

• Previous Oil & Gas shutdown project experience is preferred.

• Immediate availability to join the shutdown project is preferred.
