Mechanical Technician (Shutdown)

We are seeking experienced Mechanical Technicians for an Oil & Gas shutdown project in Kuwait. Candidates should have hands-on experience in pipework and pressure vessel maintenance, flange management, valve and Pressure Safety Valve (PSV) removal and installation, vessel opening and closing, and mechanical maintenance activities. Previous experience in plant shutdowns, purging, and deinventorying operations is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform unbolting, breaking, and flanging up of pipework and pressure vessels.

• Open and close vessel manways, handholes, and inspection covers.

• Remove, reinstall, and replace process valves and Pressure Safety Valves (PSVs).

• Provide mechanical support to Operations during plant shutdown, purging, and deinventorying activities.

• Assemble, install, and dismantle Chicago-type air and utility hose connections.

• Carry out mechanical maintenance, equipment dismantling, and reassembly activities.

• Perform workshop fabrication, machining, repairs, and component overhaul activities.

• Inspect mechanical components and ensure proper assembly and installation.

• Follow approved work procedures, permit-to-work requirements, and site safety standards.

• Coordinate with Operations and maintenance teams to complete shutdown activities within the scheduled timeframe.

Relevant experience as a Mechanical Technician in the Oil & Gas industry.

• Hands-on experience in pipework unbolting, flange breaking, and flange assembly.

• Experience in pressure vessel opening and closing activities.

• Practical knowledge of process valves and PSV removal, installation, and replacement.

• Experience supporting plant shutdown, purging, and deinventorying operations.

• Knowledge of air and utility hose connections and mechanical equipment maintenance.

• Experience in workshop fabrication, machining, component repair, and overhaul is an advantage.

• Good understanding of mechanical tools, equipment, and industrial safety procedures.

• Previous Oil & Gas shutdown project experience is preferred.

• Immediate availability to join the shutdown project is preferred.
